Pond’s Age Miracle Cell ReGEN Day Cream with SPF 15 PF+++ Review

Hi Everybody,

I had been looking for a decent day cream with some amount of SPF for a while. The ones that I tried so far were either too greasy or they would just not be enough to protect my skin against the Sun. I had chanced upon the Pond’s Age Miracle Cell ReGEN Day Cream with SPF 15 PF+++ during a couple of visits to the nearby departmental store. Until now, I chose to ignore it. But this time, I decided to give it a try and picked up the 10g variant. Within a week, it got over, but I was left impressed with its quality.

Price & Packaging: INR 110 for 10 grams/INR 349 for 35 grams. This cream comes in a white glass jar with a red plastic cap. The container looks classy with its fancy shape. Since it is a glass jar and a little on the heavier side, it is not very travel-friendly. However, I have a figured out a way for that too. I take out a little bit of cream and store it in the 10 gram jar that I initially purchased. :) The big jar is good enough to last me for 1 to 1.5 months.

My experience: The cream is pale pink in color and has a light texture, which makes it easier to spread on the face and the neck. Initially, it leaves a white cast, but that promptly disappears within a minute. At the same time, the presence of micro particles lends a nice glow to the skin which stays put for a couple of hours. This cream has the pleasant Pond’s fragrance that I can relate to the time when I was a child and my mom would run behind me and force apply it on me. Little did I know that I would grow up to be so obsessed with my skin. :P

The experience of using the cream so far has been great except for the first jar that slipped from my hand and fell down on the very second day. :( I immediately rushed to a store to get a new one so that my skin doesn’t get a chance to mourn over its hydration supplement. The best thing that I enjoyed about this cream is that it made my skin a lot more firmer and even. The tanned patches have visibly reduced and my skin looks a little radiant than before. :) It slightly helps to minimize the pores and imperfections. Since it contains SPF 15, I most often skip my sunscreen. However, if you are exposed to too much of sun, I would advise you to wear a sunscreen underneath.

The not-so-good part about this cream is that it does not hydrate my skin (my skin being normal to dry) too well. When I apply the cream, my skin becomes nourished for at least two hours after which it starts feeling dry (this could possibly be due to the AC in office) and needs reapplication.

My recommendation: Overall, this is a good day cream and I can see myself using another couple of jars before I find something better for my skin (now I know there are plenty of choices around). The brightening effect is something I like, but on the other hand for people with extremely dry skin can surely skip this cream as the brand has to really work hard on the hydration bit.
